It was already unofficial, it is now official: former President Marc Ravalomanana is a candidate for the next presidential election. He announced it in front of his thousands of supporters, last Saturday, during the last day of the national congress of the Tiako I Madagasikara party at Magro Tanjombato.
“I am a candidate to save the Malagasy people and restore the country”, launched Marc Ravalomanana in his speech. It unveiled its development program after this announcement, a new version of the Madagascar Action Plan (MAP), renamed Madagascar Action Plan Plus.
Marc Ravalomanana is the first party leader to officially declare his candidacy for the presidential election this year. The announcement is not a surprise, given that he has already started criss-crossing the country for several months.
