Prime Minister Modi arrived in Trichy to have darshan of Swami at Srirangam. At 11 a.m., Swami has darshan at the Srirangam temple. He goes by helicopter from Trichy to the makeshift helipad at Kochi. From there he will go to Srirangam by road.

More than 275 competitive events will be held in the 6th edition
Over 5600 sportspersons will participate in this 13-day edition of Gallo India Youth Games across 15 venues with 26 sports categories, over 275 competitive events and 1 demo game. The 26 sports categories are a mix of traditional sports like Kalaripayattu, Khadka, Dhangda, Kabaddi and Yogasana along with traditional sports like Football, Volleyball, Badminton.

Gallo India Youth Games: Modi arrives in Chennai
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Chennai to attend the opening ceremony of the 6th Gallo India Youth Games 2023 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
This is the first time that the Gallo India Youth Games are being held in South India. The Games will be held from 19 to 31 January 2024 in four cities in Tamil Nadu namely Chennai, Madurai, Trichy and Coimbatore.

PM Modi worships in temples
The Prime Minister, who is staying at the Governor’s House in Guindy tonight, will participate in a function at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli tomorrow (January 20) at 11 am. The Prime Minister will also listen to various scholars reciting verses from Kamba Ramayana in this temple.
After that, the Prime Minister will go to Rameswaram at around 2 pm and perform worship and pooja at Arulmiku Ramanathaswamy temple. During the past few days, the Prime Minister visited several temples and attended Ramayana recitals in various languages (such as Marathi, Malayalam and Telugu).
Similarly, in this temple too, he participates in a program called ‘Sri Ramayana Parayanam’. During the event, eight different traditional mandals will recite Ramakathas (lines describing the episode of Lord Rama’s return to Ayodhya) in Sanskrit, Avadi, Kashmiri, Gurmukhi, Assamese, Bengali, Maithili and Gujarati. It is in line with the cultural norms and bonds of India which are at the core of ‘One Bharat, Unnatha Bharat’. The Prime Minister will also participate in the Bhajani Sandhya program at Arulmiku Ramanathaswamy Temple that evening in the temple premises.

Later, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for new projects worth Rs 250 crore on behalf of the Information and Broadcasting Department. He is set to launch a revamped DD package TV channel, DD Tamil.
He also inaugurates 12 Akashwani Phanpalai broadcasting projects in eight states and 4 television transmitter services of Doordarshan in Jammu and Kashmir.
