Prince Harry is probably planning a trip home soon. But the reason has – at least officially – nothing to do with his family.

The relationship between Prince Harry and the rest of the British royal family is still said to be tense. Nevertheless, the 39-year-old, who now lives with his family in the USA, traveled home immediately after the announcement of his father, King Charles III’s, cancer diagnosis. Now that Harry’s sister-in-law Princess Kate has made it public that she has cancer, there has been speculation as to whether he will travel to London again. He actually does that now – but for different reasons.

Prince Harry launched the Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded or sick soldiers, in 2014. This year the project is celebrating its tenth anniversary. To mark the occasion, there will be a service in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on May 8th, which Prince Harry will also attend, as the British “Daily Express” reports. The royal’s participation has been confirmed, but it is not yet clear whether his wife Meghan will accompany him.

Reconciliation in the British royal family is still pending

Of course, that doesn’t rule out Prince Harry taking the opportunity to personally convey his well wishes to Princess Kate or see other family members. There is still no reconciliation in the British royal family.

King Charles III had shared his diagnosis with the public on February 5th, after prostate surgery he was found to have cancer. On March 22, his daughter-in-law Princess Kate also announced in a personal video message that she had cancer. She was also diagnosed with the disease during examinations after an operation. She initially withdrew from the public eye after the operation, after which numerous conspiracy theories arose. Here you can read more about it.
