Naypyidaw: An inmate was killed in a prison riot in Myanmar. The incident took place in a prison in western Yangon. More than 60 people were injured. Among the injured were two policemen and six jail staff.
On Thursday night, the security personnel seized the mobile phones from the inmates and took disciplinary action. This led to the rebellion. It is reported that 70 prisoners escaped from the jail. Authorities have announced an investigation into the incident.
