The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Abbas Al-Halabi, said in a statement reported by the official Lebanese News Agency and followed by the (INA), that he had “decided to suspend in-person teaching in all educational institutions located. in “Beirut Administrative District, north Matn Coast, Chouf Coast, and Baabda Coast, today, Monday.”
He also said, according to what the agency reported, that he also decided to “extend the effects of the circular, according to which private educational institutions that accept personal education, to do so by distance education, were required to the end of December. 2024.”
The Minister explained that the aim of these measures is to “preserve the safety of students, educational staff and families, given the current dangerous conditions.”
This decision comes after the Zionist army launched a series of violent airstrikes on buildings in several neighborhoods in the southern suburbs of Beirut, warning the inhabitants of these buildings before they have to evacuate.
