Member of Parliament MA Sumanthran has said that he will file a case in the Supreme Court regarding the rejection of the Sri Lankan Tamil Government Party’s nomination in the Karaithuraippattu Pradeshiya Sabha election of Mullaitivu district.
He also said, “We will win the case. The Sri Lankan Tamil Government Party will contest in the Karaithurapattu Pradeshiya Sabha elections. It will win.”
A special meeting was organized today in Kalapadu area of Mullaitivu district regarding the rejection of Sri Lankan Tamil Government Party’s nomination petition for Karaithuraippattu Pradeshiya Sabha.
Rejection of nomination
The meeting was attended by Member of Parliament MA Sumanthran and Party General Secretary Sakthiyalingam.
Speaking to the media at the end of the meeting, Member of Parliament MA Swatanthan said, “The Sri Lankan Tamil Government Party’s nomination for the Karaithurapattu Divisional Council has been rejected.
In this regard, the general secretary of the party Vaidiyar Sathyalingam and the deputy general secretary of the party had a discussion with some of the Mullaitivu district branch and some of this constituency with the candidates selected to contest the Karaithurapattu divisional council elections.
In this regard, we will file a case in the Supreme Court immediately challenging the decision taken by Mullaitivu to reject the Sri Lankan Tamil Government Party’s nomination.
We will definitely win in that and Sri Lankan Tamil Rasu Party will also win in the elections for the Mullaitivu Coastal Division.
