The Pakistani government has fired Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar.
The move comes just hours before a vote of no confidence in the Imran Khan government. Announcing the dismissal of the Governor of Punjab, Information Minister Bhavat Chaudhry did not give any information as to why he was sacked.
Chaudhry said the new governor would be announced later and until then the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Legislative Assembly would act as the acting governor.
