New Delhi: “Rahul Gandhi should apologize in Parliament for his extra-parliamentary actions on PM Modi. Otherwise, Rahul Gandhi will have to lose his membership,” said BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.

Earlier, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Prakalat Joshi had issued a special infringement notice to Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in Parliament about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Parliamentary Secretariat had on Sunday informed Rahul Gandhi that he should respond to this notice by Wednesday.

Speaking to a private news agency, Dubey said, “You cannot raise such allegations against our Prime Minister without giving any prior notice to the Speaker. In the notice we have given, we have to present the evidence of the allegations against Prime Minister Modi by February 15 before the Speaker or Rahul Gandhi apologize in Parliament. If he fails, he will lose his position in the Lok Sabha,” he said.

Meanwhile, on February 8, BJP MP Dubey had written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In the letter, “Rahul Gandhi had said in the Parliament that he would submit documentary evidence for his speech. However, he has not submitted any documentary evidence so far. Thus, the Congress MP’s speech is misleading the House and tarnishing the reputation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

This action is a violation of the privileges and immunities of the members and is an act of contempt. Therefore, I request that action be taken against Rahul Gandhi for violation of special rights and contempt of court.”

Addressing a motion of thanks to the President’s speech in the Lok Sabha on February 7, Rahul Gandhi had brought up the Hindenburg report on the Adani Group and blamed the government. How will Gautam Adani’s net worth from Rs 66,000 crore in 2014 become Rs 11.58 lakh crore in 2022? Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who questioned this in Parliament, alleged that this happened after his closeness with the Prime Minister and that the rules were changed in many sectors for the billionaire industrialist.
