New Delhi : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has achieved a major success in the bomb blast case that took place at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on March 1. NIA has arrested an accused in this case. However, the accused who planted the bomb in the cafe is still out of custody. But the NIA has claimed that the arrested accused is a co-conspirator of one of the main accused who carried out the cafe bomb blast. Soon more accused will also be in the custody of NIA.

Name of the arrested accused is Muzammil Sharif

NIA said that in this case, NIA teams had raided 18 places including 12 places in Karnataka, five places in Tamil Nadu and one place in Uttar Pradesh. The name of the arrested accused is Muzammil Sharif. He was arrested late Wednesday evening. Earlier in Bareilly also, NIA’s Lucknow team had interrogated a suspect in Bareilly. After which this arrest was made again. The NIA took over the investigation of the blast that took place on March 1 in Bengaluru on March 3.

Search for main accused Musavir Shajib Hussain intensified

Earlier, the main accused in this case, Musavir Shajib Hussain, was identified. This is the same accused who carried out the bomb blast in the cafe. The agency has also identified another conspirator Abdul Matin Taha. Earlier, he was wanted by the agency in other cases also. At present both these accused are still away from arrest. NIA investigation has revealed that the arrested accused Muzammil Sharif had helped the other two accused identified in the IED blast at Rameshwaram Cafe on ITPL Road, Brookfield, Bengaluru, in the form of material on March 1. Many customers and hotel staff were injured in the explosion. Some were also seriously injured in this. Property was also damaged in the bomb blast.

NIA investigation intensified in blast case

The NIA raided the houses of these three accused as well as the houses and shops of other suspects. During the search, NIA has seized several digital devices along with cash. Efforts are continuing to nab the absconding accused and unearth the larger conspiracy behind the blast. NIA hopes that soon the main accused who carried out the blast in the cafe along with the main handlers who carried out the blast will also be caught. Investigation is also being done regarding which terrorist organization and foreign hand is involved in this case.
