Ukrainian partisans, who chose the Russian Navy Day celebrations for their strike, are believed to be behind the attack, i.e. July 30. This is a popular military holiday of all Russians, which is usually full of parades. Russian President Vladimir Putin, for example, personally arrived in St. Petersburg, where he inspected warships and nuclear submarines and promised that the navy will receive several dozen new vessels this year.

“During the celebrations in one military center built in Mariupol, there was a mass poisoning of soldiers,” specified Andryushchenko. According to him, the Kremlin-appointed administration believes that cyanide and a combination of pesticides were used in the attack. This caused 17 men to be hospitalized, their condition was very serious, two soldiers finally succumbed to poisoning.

Guerrilla activity

“Our people say with a smile that rats always need poison,Andryushchenko added in his comment. “This day starts with good news, sabotage sounds so beautiful, don’t you think?” he continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on the matter. Andryushchenko believes the poisoning was carried out by a pro-Ukraine resistance group known as Group-Y.

Partisans have been very active in Ukraine since the beginning of the war, for example they are responsible for attacks on the Russian city of Belgorod. According to the Kyiv Post, the resistance groups are also behind the revelation of the occupying training centers on the island of Dzharylhach in Kherson. The guerrillas revealed the location of the camps to the Ukrainian forces, who destroyed them using HIMARS missiles. There was talk of up to 200 fallen Russians, but the number of victims cannot be verified.

Negotiations of about 40 countries on peace for Ukraine have started in Saudi Arabia, in addition to the West, India, Brazil and China are also participating. Russia did not receive an invitation.

This morning, Pope Francis visited a pilgrimage site in the village of Fátima in central Portugal with the participation of 200,000 believers. According to AFP, the head of the Catholic Church deviated from the original plan and did not raise expected topics during the visit, such as Russia’s war in Ukraine. A Ukrainian flag appeared among the crowd of people who came to hear him. Read more here.
