The Committee on Government Commitments of the 12th National Assembly has recommended that various cities of the country take up cleanliness activities and provide clean water.

This recommendation was made in the meeting held on Wednesday (April 24) at Sangsad Bhavan under the chairmanship of committee president Muhibur Rahman Manik.

Committee member. Mujibul Haque, Rafiqul Islam, Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman, AKM Mostafizur Rahman and Fazilatun Nesa participated in the meeting.

Introduction phase was held at the beginning of the meeting. Then the details of the promises made by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives from the first session of the 11th National Parliament to the recently concluded session of the 12th National Parliament, the latest updates on the implementation of the promises and the details of the projects undertaken were presented and discussed in detail.

In the meeting, according to the report of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, 11 out of 48 promises have been implemented, 35 are under implementation and two are pending. It is recommended by the committee to complete the activities undertaken by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives on a priority basis against the commitments under implementation and under process.

Various cities of the country have been given importance to take clean activities and provide fresh water. The Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Department (IMED) is strongly recommended to monitor and provide feedback on the quality of work and implementation progress of projects taken up by the Ministry.

Senior Secretary of Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Secretary of Local Government Department, Chief Engineer, Additional Secretary, Head of concerned Department, Additional Secretary of Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Department (IMED), senior officials of the Ministry and related officials of Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
