Namakkal: Chinnuswamy has sent a petition to the Chief Minister on behalf of the people of Tummangurichi town to remove the encroachments in the puddle and repair the water path.
The petition states:
In Tummangurichi under Namakkal municipality, the maintenance work of the government overflow water pond has been carried out. Steps should be taken to remove the encroachments inside the pond, get the proper land survey done by the District Survey Officer and plant abutment.
When asked about the land size of this pond, the municipal administration and taluk office also gave conflicting information. Therefore, the government is in a state of disrepute.
Apart from the women’s public toilets in water-logged ponds, other places where the patta is issued should be removed and steps should be taken to issue the patta at an alternative place. According to the order of the High Court, the encroachment on the stream pond should be removed. Also, the water channel to the stream has been destroyed. They should be embanked and the water channels should be repaired.
Rainwater should be stored properly in this pond, the water level in the agricultural wells in the surrounding area should be raised, and agriculture should be prosperous.
