Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal (BASD) has expressed deep grief over the death of Bhasha Sainik, one of the organizers of the Liberation War, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal, Advocate Golam Arif Tipu.

In a statement sent to the media on Friday (March 15), General Secretary Comrade Bajlur Rashid Firoz expressed his grief.

Comrade Feroze said in the statement that he played an important role in the 1952 language movement and its continuation in the great liberation war of 1971. He later served until his death as the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the prosecution of war criminals. He was suffering from various diseases related to old age for a long time. Recently admitted to a private hospital, he breathed his last on Friday morning while undergoing treatment.

He said, Tipu was a man with a completely non-communal democratic spirit. In his death, the country lost a fearless soldier, a patriot with non-communal democratic spirit.

He expressed his sincere condolences to the bereaved family and colleagues.
