Rexton Club driving training summary, Horshan Mountain – 6/1/23

by time news

Ssangyong Rexton customers who weren’t afraid of a rainy forecast got a perfect background of blue sky for a fruitful and enjoyable driving lesson

Winter driving lessons can be a bit tricky. You need to check what the chances are that heavy rain will interfere with the training in the open air, although a little rain before the training can give a great extra with a little mud and slips. The forecast did show that there was a chance of rain from the middle of the training onwards, but we decided to take a tiny chance and hold it anyway. Luckily we did so because the reward came immediately in the form of a perfect winter day with clean air and good visibility, perfect conditions for conducting the training.
We arranged to meet at nine o’clock in the morning at the old Bat Shlomo parking lot, which every Friday is filled with all kinds of all-terrain vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, ATVs and more. This Friday was a bit empty, which means Mount Horshan will be less crowded, which is also a nice bonus.
After all the group members had gathered and arrived, we headed to the forest where we would hold the first part of the day, the theoretical lesson. In this section, we first and foremost create a common language for the less experienced members, and continue for everyone with a review of the various vehicle systems, especially those directly related to off-road driving. In recent years, many advanced systems have been added to the vehicles and the Ssangyong Rexton as a whole, and therefore this part is also important for those who have experienced off-road driving in the past.

As important as it is, the lesson is just an introduction to the more important part of the day, tackling offense challenges. We found a nice climb that includes a crossing and a half and a small rock step, and we saw how Rexton works in practice and how the driver finds the right line of progress. When we got to the rock step, we talked about the angles of the vehicles and how to approach them correctly, with an emphasis on safety, because as tough as the Rexton is, we wouldn’t want to confront it with rock and inertia, not a good idea.
It’s 12 noon and the sky is clear of rain clouds, we decide to climb to N.G. 186 in a familiar and not too difficult ascent. It’s just that the rains of the past few days have dug it up a bit, making it relatively challenging, not something Haxton was overly excited about.

The view from the top of the hill, which includes the Carmel Ridge, the Amir Mountains and more, is beautiful every time. Add to that clean air after rain and good visibility due to the same reason, and you got a nice finale for a calm guide.
Thanks to the participants who made the training a fun day in the field, thanks to Telcar – importer of Ssangyong Rexton to Israel.
Let’s meet on trips.
