The former candidate for the presidency of Colombia, Rodolfo Hernández, starred in an emotional moment during the hearing of allegations in the criminal process linked to the Vitalogic case. With tears in the eyes, Hernández concluded his speech by revealing to the judge that he suffers from terminal cancer.
At the conclusion of the first part of the hearing, scheduled to continue later in the day, Hernández expressed his gratitude to the judge for allowing him to be absent momentarily to attend a medical appointment. «Thank you, you answered my call for the doctor to see me. I have terminal cancer, thank you for letting me take care of me,” were his words.
It is worth mentioning that Hernández has been fighting this disease for some time. Despite having previously undergone surgery to remove a cancerous mass in his colon and receiving chemotherapy treatments, the cancer has reached a terminal stage.

Visibly affected, the former candidate expressed his regret at finding himself involved in the judicial process: “Of everything I thought, the least was being prosecuted for things I did not do, thank you, Mr. Judge.”
The uproar in Hernández’s political career began when the Attorney General’s Office disqualified him due to a scandal related to an alleged improper interest in a $344 million contract for waste management in Bucaramanga, known as the Vitalogic case.
