Rubiales calls an Extraordinary Assembly to discuss the kiss without consent

This Tuesday night he announced that he is convening an extraordinary assembly to discuss the matter, which will be held on Friday at 12 o’clock at the Ciutat del Futbol de Las Rozas.

“The Royal Spanish Football Federation calls, as a matter of urgency, an extraordinary general assembly for Friday August 25, from 12 noon, at the headquarters of the Ciutat del Futbol de Las Rozas – says the statement – In addition, and in relation to the latest events that occurred during the award ceremony of the Women’s World Cup won by the Spanish team last Sunday in Sydney, we would like to inform you that the internal proceedings of the Federation are open regarding matters of integrity, as well as the rest of the applicable protocols,” he adds.

This announcement takes place after a telematic meeting was held this afternoon between a large part of the territorial federations, most of which have expressed their support for Rubiales, as Cadena SER has reported. But in the end, they have not released a joint statement because some of the presidents were missing. One of the most important conclusions reached at this meeting is to request an extraordinary assembly at the RFEF, which was accepted hours later. On Friday, the matter will be debated in a scenario that, barring surprise, will make public the support of the territorial federations for the president of the RFEF.
