Russia to cancel international roaming with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia in 2025

Russia will cancel international cellular roaming with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), by 2025. This is stated in the annex to the request of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), sent to all major mobile operators of the union states and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia 16 March 2023. The document is at the disposal of Vedomosti, its authenticity was confirmed by sources in two Big Four operators.

The EEC requested information on fair tariffs for cellular services in international roaming. In the letter, the EEC asks, by April 14, to provide data on the number of subscribers, the volume and cost of cellular services provided to subscribers of the EAEU member states from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022, as well as information on income received.
