Actor Ryan O’Neal Laid to Rest Next to Farrah Fawcett

Iconic actor Ryan O’Neal, best known for his role in the film Love Story, was buried on Saturday next to his longtime partner Farrah Fawcett. O’Neal, 82, passed away on December 8th and was laid to rest at the Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.

The former couple had a tumultuous relationship over the course of three decades but were reunited at the time of Fawcett’s death in 2009. The ceremony was attended by the couple’s son Patrick and a group of around 25 people.

The actor’s death certificate revealed that he died of “congestive heart failure” and underlying cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle. O’Neal had been in ill health for some time, having been diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012 and chronic leukemia in 2001.

In addition to Love Story, O’Neal was best known for his work in the 1970s, with hits including Paper Moon, in which he co-starred with his daughter Tatum, who went on to win a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role. He also appeared in What’s Up, Doc? The Main Event, and Barry Lyndon.

O’Neal’s passing marks the end of an era for Hollywood, but his legacy and contributions to the industry will not be forgotten.
