The Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, has assured that money is not an obstacle for the preparations for the upcoming Sabarimala pilgrimage. He stated that the government is giving great importance to the pilgrimage and has already spent 220 crore rupees on its development.

Sabarimala is a popular pilgrimage center that attracts a large number of visitors, especially from Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Taking this into consideration, the darshan time has been extended by an hour and pilgrims are now being transported through spot booking, with the number reaching 20,000. Additionally, devotees are also coming for darshan through the Kananapatha route.

On any given day, up to 1,20,000 pilgrims visit Sabarimala, with public holidays being particularly crowded. The Chief Minister acknowledged that it takes more time for pilgrims to reach Sannidhanam, especially when women and children are present. As a result, a special review meeting has been held to assess the situation.

Despite the continued flow of pilgrims to Pampa, the situation at Sannidhanam is slowly returning to normal. Traffic congestion has eased, allowing bus services to resume and additional services to be introduced from Nilakkal to Pampa and vice versa. The police have also intervened more efficiently to control the traffic, further relieving the situation.

It is clear that the government is prioritizing the smooth and efficient functioning of the Sabarimala pilgrimage, and the efforts being put into its development are reflective of this commitment.
