Schwarzenegger shares rare photos with ‘Ghostbusters’ director

Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger dedicated a post to the memory of director Ivan Reitman, who died in the United States at the age of 76

Reitman is a legend. In Hollywood, he was larger than life. He was the king of comedy. In life, he was a Man – a wonderful father and husband, a fantastic friend. He was kind, he was generous, he was very smart, and he was always there. I am devastated and my thoughts are with the Reitman family,” wrote “Iron Arnie” on his Facebook page, using the German word “mensch” to convey the meaning of “Man with a capital letter”.

Schwarzenegger attached three photos with Reitman to the publication, and in one of the pictures we see the brilliant Danny DeVito.

In addition, the actor wrote the following:

I will always be grateful that he gave the Austrian action comedy hero a chance at a time when the studios just wanted me to focus on finding new ways to kill bad guys, blow things up and show off my muscles. I knew I could do something in comedy, but I needed someone else to bring it to life. Ivan was a great director and friend; he could see something in you that others didn’t, and he could help show it to the rest of the world. Making Twins, Junior and Kindergarten Cop with Ivan was heaven for me. Spending the last few years working with him on The Triplets (2019 comedy film starring Schwarzenegger and Eddie Murphy – I.V.) and seeing his passion and genius once again was a joy. Just last week I was talking about how excited I was to be back on set with him this fall. (Apparently, we are talking about restarting the “Gemini”).

“I can’t believe I won’t be working with him again or hanging out and just talking about life again,” Arnold summed up his parting words.
