Chennai: Tamil Nadu BJP leader K. Annamalai has said that the Sethu Samudra project, which was created to loot people’s money, was blocked by the court.
While speaking at the book release ceremony written by DMK Treasurer DR Balu, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin had said that “DR Balu is the one who built the Golden Quadrilateral Road. AIADMK and BJP prevented the development of Tamil Nadu by not completing the Sethu Samudra project.”
Vajpayee’s Dream Project: Golden Quadrilateral Road project known to the world is the dream project of former Prime Minister Late Vajpayee. At the same time, BC Khanduri, who was the Minister of Highways during the period 2000-2004, initiated the Quadrilateral Highway Project in Tamil Nadu.
The project was fully completed in 2013. But how DR Balu, who was the minister in between (2004-2009) without beginning and end, can claim this project as his personal achievement. But DR Balu’s greatest achievement was the substantial collection of compulsory collections from the contractors in this Golden Quadrilateral Road project.
Apart from this, the Sethu Samudra project costs Rs.900 crore per annum. When former Chief Minister Karunanidhi tried to implement this project somehow, there was a fierce competition between a member of Karunanidhi’s family and TR Balu to get the sand mining contract. It is true that DR Balu tried to enrich himself and his party through this project.

The plan was blocked by the court to demolish the traditional faith of Indians, Rama Bridge, build an unscientific waterway there and loot people’s money. India’s pride will be at stake if this plan is implemented. It says so.
