The process of shifting the regional office of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) from the dangerous building of Caravan Bazaar has started. The office is being shifted to Mohammadpur Community Center adjacent to Mohammadpur Shia Mosque. It will be the temporary regional office of DNCC Region-5.

From Thursday (March 28) morning, the transfer of goods of the regional office started in full swing.

At that time, Regional Executive Officer Motakabbir Ahmed told reporters that the relocation process of caravan market is starting with the transfer of DNCC office. Everything in the office will be removed before Eid and the building will be demolished after Eid. After Eid, 176 shops in this dangerous building will be shifted to Gabtali. Apart from this, another 180 temporary shops will also be shifted to Gabtali.

It is to be noted that DNCC held a discussion meeting with traders on March 18 regarding the transfer of caravan market. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal was the chief guest at the meeting.

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam said, after Eid, abandoned dangerous building of DNCC in Karwan Bazar will be demolished. This raw bazaar building in Karwan Bazar is very risky. It can collapse at any time. Many people’s lives are at risk due to unsafe buildings. These traders of the wholesale raw market at Karwan Bazar will be shifted to the wholesale raw market of DNCC at Gabtali.
