Former India captain Gautam Gambhir has ruled out Rahane’s place in India’s squad for the Test series against South Africa.
The Indian cricket team, which made history by winning the Test series 1-0 against New Zealand, is set to tour South Africa next.
South Africa is set to take part in a three-Test series. Fans are eager to see how the Indian team will face the South African team on its own soil.
As the overall Indian fans are eagerly waiting for this series as the Indian team has to change the bad histories of the past and win the Test series, many former players are expressing their expectations about this series. As well as many cricket experts are openly revealing their predictions as to which team will capture this series between the two teams.
Former India captain Gautam Gambhir has said that Rahane will not be available for the Test series against South Africa.
Commenting on this, Gautam Gambhir said, “To be honest, I think it will be difficult for Rahane to get a place in the playing eleven. I think the Indian team will give priority to Shreyas Iyer over Rahane as he has played very well and Rahane is constantly getting hurt. Hanuma Vihari, another middle order batsman, has been playing impeccably, so it is unlikely Rahane will get a place.
