Wasim Ahmed, Basti: Bharatiya Janata Party has today announced 195 candidates from the party for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, in which BJP has once again given the ticket from Basti Lok Sabha seat, expressing confidence in the sitting MP and national minister Harish Dwivedi. MP Harish Dwivedi said that there are many challenges before him but he will once again score a hat-trick of victory only on the basis of the development work done during his 10 years in office.

Harish Dwivedi was born on 22 October 1973 in a middle class Brahmin family, his father Mr. Sadhusharan Dubey was a teacher in Kisan Inter College. MP Harish Dwivedi came in contact with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad since 1991, from 1993 to 95 he got the role of District Head of Vidyarthi Parishad, Basti. He has also been the State Co-Minister from 1994 to 1996. BJP’s declared Lok Sabha candidate Harish Dwivedi also became the Department Organization Minister of ABVP Gorakhpur from 1995 to 1998.

He was the Department Organization Minister in Prayag from 1998 to 2000, Organization Minister of Prayagraj and Sultanpur Department from 2000 to 2003, after which he came in contact with BJP from 2004, was the political advisor to BJP State President Kesharinath Tripathi from 2005 to 2007. During this period, he was also the State General Secretary of BJYM from 2005 to 2007. After completing his political journey, he became the State Vice President of BJYM from 2007 to 2010.

State President of UP unit of BJYM from 2010 to 2013, he actively participated in the Tiranga Yatra organized by BJYM. In the 2012 assembly elections, he got the ticket from Basti Sadar assembly constituency, in which he had to face defeat. From 2013 till now he is working as BJP State Working Committee member.

Harish Dwivedi has won the Lok Sabha elections from Basti parliamentary seat as a BJP candidate in the general elections of 2014 and 2019. After becoming MP, Harish Dwivedi has been a member of various parliamentary committees like Energy, Information and Technology, Finance, Estimates and Standing Committee on Petitions. MP Harish has also discharged important responsibilities like National Minister in the BJP national team led by JP Nadda. Before this, Harish Dwivedi had also been co-in-charge of important states like Bihar.

Keeping in mind his efficiency and ability in Parliament, he has also been made the Chairman of the Petitions Committee, one of the oldest and important parliamentary committees. Harish Dwivedi said that in view of his hard work and the development work done in the parliamentary constituency Basti under the direction and blessings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, National President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he has been announced today.

In the first list of BJP candidates, the party’s candidate from parliamentary constituency Basti has been made for the third time. After being declared the BJP candidate from Basti Lok Sabha constituency for the third time, MP Harish Dwivedi, while thanking the top leadership and the people of Basti, said that the party has expressed confidence in me by making me its candidate for the third time. He will not let the trust of the people of the colony be broken and the chain of development of the colony will continue to move forward. The MP said that a lot of work has been done regarding development in the colony, some are going on, some are pending, this sequence will be continued. 100% efforts will be made honestly to fulfill the expectations of the residents of the colony.
