The horrifying incident took place on board flight number SG 3735, on a SpaceJet plane that took off from Goa in India. One of the passengers, Vivek Vishal, claimed that “Space Jet endangered people’s lives, we suffocated for 25 minutes and even oxygen masks were not opened, strict measures should be taken against such a negligent airline”. After the plane made an emergency landing, many ambulances were waiting for the passengers. Ambulance crews were seen waiting at the side of the track with wheelchairs.

According to estimates, there were at least 86 people on board the plane, which was forced to make a full emergency landing due to the malfunction. According to local reports, passengers were taken off the plane shortly after landing in Hyderabad, India, where the pilot notified air traffic control of the incident.

According to passengers, the crew on board told the passengers to ‘start praying’ due to the panic on the plane, but the airline spokesman denied these claims. Another passenger claimed: “The crew members told us to pray to God and pray for our families – it was embarrassing, many of the passengers panicked and started screaming.”

One of the passengers also claimed that the crew hijacked his phone and forced another passenger to delete photos and videos from the event. SpiceJet claimed that the smoke was caused by the air conditioning system on board and that their crew handled the situation according to protocol.
