Kalpetta: BJP leaders in Rahul Gandhi MP’s constituency are targeting political moves against Rahul at the national level. With BJP National General Secretary CT Ravi, Suresh Gopi MP, former BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan and Smriti Irani coming to review the development plans in the constituency yesterday, the aim is to discuss the backwardness of Wayanad at the national level.
Asked if the state government was not cooperating with the Aspirational District project being implemented in the district, Smriti Irani said, “We should ask Rahul Gandhi MP about that.” Smriti said she was not like Rahul Gandhi and would not run away from Amethi.
BJP leaders’ Wayanad tour focuses on tribal colonies. The BJP cyber wing is spreading the propaganda that Rahul Gandhi is not intervening to solve the problems faced by the backward classes in the district. Suresh Gopi also criticized the lack of development in the tribal colonies in Parliament. Union Minister V Muraleedharan said that Rahul Gandhi was a migratory bird visiting Wayanad for political tourism.
Meanwhile, MLAs T. Siddique and IC Balakrishnan took to the stage to criticize Wayanad for excluding MPs from the review meeting attended by Smriti Irani.
