“So happy to live”: journalist Louis Laforge reveals that he was operated on for cancer

by time news

It’s a message of hope for the thousands of cancer patients… Public service journalist Louis Laforge, 54, announces that he was operated on for cancer a year ago. “12 months later, still some pain, still a bit of fatigue… but so happy to be alive,” he wrote on the social network Twitter.

“It was a year ago, on August 27, 2021 at the Pompidou Hospital in Paris:: a kidney, a ureter canal, a piece of small intestine and colon and above all one less cancer”, writes Louis Laforge, accompanying his post with a photo of him lying in a hospital bed, thumbs up.

“A big thank you to all the health professionals who do a wonderful job despite very precarious conditions,” continues the journalist. And Louis Laforge added: “A thought also to all those who are fighting against the disease. “Thank you to the whole France info team for their support and trust,” he also wrote, still on Twitter.

This is the first time that Louis Laforge has publicly revealed that he was sick with cancer. He had returned to the antenna of the news channel France info, of which he has become a key face since its launch in 2016, last March. He notably animated the evenings of the presidential election and the legislative elections.

Before France info, Louis Laforge had worked on France 3, with the animation of “Soir 3” but also “Des Racines et des wings” between 2005 and 2013.
