The model and daughter of Lionel Richie, Sofia Richie Graingegave an interview to Vogue and Alexandra Macon, in which she opened up about her journey to motherhood.
THE pregnancy was the focus of the entire conversation she had with the reporter, while from the beginning of the interview, Sofia referred to when and how she found out she was pregnant.

The journey to revelation
«I found that out very early” he characteristically said, while then adding: “I was four weeks old. I was on a trip to Milan for Fashion Week and I was going to show of the house Prada. I did a 24 hour shoot and felt awful but didn’t think much of it. I thought it was jet lag».

Then, returning to Los Angeles, she planned to go to Ed Sheeran’s concert with her husband and friends. “I knew it was going to be a fun night and I was a few days late and because I wanted to be absolutely safe (that everything would be fine) I took a (pregnancy) test.».

When he took the tests, he revealed to Macon, they all came back positive. Her husband, Elliot Grainge, was thrilled, and they both cried with emotion. “It was crazy and shocking and so hard not to shout it from the rooftops. But knowing it was so early, I was so hesitant – even to tell my friends».
So Sofia and Elliot, at first, shared the happy news only with their parents.

And yes, it’s a girl!
“I’ve learned more in the last six months than I’ve learned in my entire life,” Sofia said, showing the power of motherhood, even from the pregnancy stage.
Apart from the life lessons that the pregnancy gives her, Sofia also revealed the gender of the baby, saying that she is expecting a girl. “He’s growing up really fast, so (the birth date) is a bit up in the air,” he said, adding:
«I love gender reveal YouTubes and TikToks, so we had our gynecologist text my assistant Becca [το φύλο του μωρού μας] and we bought two party poppers: one blue and one pink. Leave out the one with the correct color inside. We both really thought it was a boy so it was a real shock. My life’s dream is to have a daughter [όμως], and Elliot is really excited for a girl. I think it’s so natural for boys to want boys, but he has a lot of sisters. It was very sweet. He is very sensitive».

Stress during pregnancy – ‘I cried about everything’
In addition to the pleasant things, however, Sofia Richie Grainge also spoke about the difficult times she has faced so far in this journey to motherhood.
As she said, she had a really hard time because she cried for a whole week.
“I had a week of crying. I was crying with the paint on the wall. I’d cry over anything you could cry over. But you just have to sit back and be in awe and know that everything you’re going through is completely normal and all the ups and downs are normal. It made me feel better to know that other people have been through emotional ups and downs. That was comforting to me.”
