‘Some doctors deserve a beating’; KB Ganesh Kumar in the Assembly with the plight of the woman who had her stomach opened for surgery

Thiruvananthapuram: KB Ganesh Kumar MLA said that although patients and bystanders do not agree with beating doctors, some doctors deserve to be beaten. Ganesh Kumar said this while revealing the plight of a young woman who could not have her stomach surgically reattached in her constituency. The finance department’s sub-fund request was discussed in the assembly. He was participating and speaking.

A woman in the constituency is in a condition where pus is leaking out after surgery. The MLA said that such people cannot be blamed for being beaten and that they ask for and receive the beating.

On December 17, a widow from her constituency underwent surgery at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. But their stomachs have not been stitched yet. The health minister was informed about this. The superintendent of the medical college called the Punalur taluk hospital and asked him to bring the patient immediately. But the head of surgery refused to admit the patient. There is evidence that the chief of surgery took Rs.2000 from this patient before the surgery. KB Ganesh Kumar said that he is ready to hand over this to the vigilance.

R. KB Ganesh Kumar made allegations against a doctor named C Sreekumar in the Legislative Assembly with evidence including medical records. The MLA has made a serious allegation that this doctor was not ready to perform the surgery despite being told by the superintendent. Ganesh Kumar also reminded the congregation of an earlier incident where he had left a pair of scissors in the stomach of a patient in his constituency. The MLA also demanded that those who committed the crime should be found. Meanwhile, Health Minister Veena George announced in the Assembly that she would investigate the MLA’s allegations.

K. Sheeba (48) in Vazhapara Sheeja Manzil was forced to undergo surgery to remove a uterine tumor. After surgery, their stomachs cannot be joined together. Sheeba was operated on 7 times in one year, first at a private hospital in Kollam and later at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital. Since the stomach is open, even the internal organs can be seen. They also say that the pain is unbearable. Sheeba, who lives with her elderly mother, is being helped by local residents.
