Special Trains Announced for Pongal Festival

In anticipation of the upcoming Pongal festival, special trains have been announced for the convenience of passengers traveling to their hometowns. The special trains will run between Tambaram-Coimbatore and Bengaluru-Tiruchirappalli.

The special train (06085) departing from Tambaram on Jan. 17 and 18 at 7.30 am will reach Coimbatore at 4.30 pm on the same day. Similarly, the special train (06086) will leave Coimbatore at 8.45 pm on Jan. 16 and 17 and reach Tambaram at 5.20 am the next day. The train will consist of triple-decker AC coaches, triple-decker economy class coaches, second sleeper class coaches, and general coaches.

In addition, a special train (06577) will leave SMVT Bangalore at 2.30 pm on Jan. 12 and reach Tiruchirappalli at 11.30 pm on the same day. The return train (06578) will depart from Tiruchirappalli at 4.45 am on Jan. 13 and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 12 noon on the same day. This train will have double-decker AC coaches, three-decker AC coaches, second class sleeper class coaches, and general coaches.

These special trains will make stops at various stations along the route, providing passengers with a convenient and efficient mode of transport. Ticket booking for these special trains has already commenced, allowing passengers to make their travel plans well in advance.

With Pongal being celebrated on the 15th, these special train services aim to facilitate hassle-free travel for all those looking to celebrate the festival with their loved ones.
