Mumbai: Today (Thursday) trading in the Mumbai stock market started with a fall. The Sensex was down 113 points at 60,912 in early trade. Similarly, the NSE Nifty fell 46 points to 18,119.

After closing yesterday’s trade in profit, the stock markets started the trading on a lower note on Wednesday. The Sensex, which opened with a 100-point drop, immediately fell by 250 points to 60,800. As of 10:03 am, the Sensex was down 235.99 points at 60,809.75. The Nifty was down 61.05) points at 18,104.30 on the NSE.

Indian equity markets opened today’s trade lower due to subdued global markets and fears of a recession boosted by US economic data. Mostly all types of stocks showed decline.

As far as individual stocks are concerned, M&M, Tata Steel, HDFC, ITC were bullish. Asian Paints, State Bank of India, Reliance Industries, L&T, Wipro, Tata Motors, Nestlé India, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, Titan Company and Kodak Mahindra Bank were the decliners.
