Mumbai: Today (Wednesday) trading in the Mumbai stock market started with a decline. The Sensex fell 153 points to 60,825 in early trade. Similarly, the NSE Nifty fell 46 points to 18,073.
Stock markets started trading lower on Wednesday. As of 09:43 am, the Sensex was down 282.61 points at 60,696.14. The Nifty was down 74.60 points at 18,043.70 on the NSE.
Stock markets hung lower on Wednesday as investors awaited F&O stocks expiring on the last Thursday of the month amid a jittery situation in global markets, a slide in financial and banking stocks.
In terms of individual stocks, Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever, M&M and Tata Motors were higher. On the other hand, stocks of ITC, Nestle India, Reliance Industries, HDFC, L&T, Wipro, Asian Paints were in decline.
