Munich – Your lawyer should now get the public prosecutor’s office moving…

Uschi Ackermann (75), widow of Gerd Käfer († 82), finally wants her two valuable watches from the luxury brand “Chopard” back.

In 2007 her watches (each with glasses and sapphires, value: 10,300 euros and 38,000 euros) were stolen in a burglary in Wiesbaden.

They reappeared in November and December 2021. They had been taken to jewelers in Frankfurt and Würzburg for repairs.

When ordering spare parts, it turned out that the watches had been registered as stolen.

They were confiscated by the police and initially placed in the evidence room at the police headquarters in Wiesbaden. Went on to the public prosecutor’s office in Wiesbaden. And from there to their colleagues in Frankfurt and Würzburg.

“I’ve been waiting for my watches for nine months and have kept asking. An absurdity. They were presents from my Gerd. I want to wear them before I’m dead,” says Ackermann to BILD. She is now hiring a lawyer.

BILD followed up with the public prosecutor’s office. And heard good news.

“We still have to give those accused of receiving stolen goods the opportunity to comment. After that, in about four weeks, Ms. Ackermann will get her watch back,” says Nadja Niesen, spokeswoman for the Frankfurt public prosecutor’s office to BILD.

The second clock that went to Würzburg is missing.

Thorsten Seebach, spokesman for the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office, told BILD: “At first glance, we don’t see that we have a watch. We will check the files again for the whereabouts of the watch.”

When the watches have hopefully arrived in Munich, they go straight to a bank safe. Uschi Ackermann still wants to wear them on special occasions.
