This Friday afternoon, strong storms and hail were reported in Western Cuba, especially in the provinces of Artemisa and Havana.

In images that were shared on social networks, you can see the severe weather situation presented in this area of ​​the country, which keeps the population locked in their homes.

The hail fall was recorded around 4:00 and 6:00 pm, in Bahía Honda, Guanajay, Quiebra Hacha (Mariel), Bauta, in the area of ​​La CUJAE, Boyeros and in the community of Párraga.

The storms and hail caused damage in Havana. The damage is concentrated in the areas of Boyeros, Arroyo and Lisa.

Mario Castillo, director of the Havana Electric Company, reported that with the climatic event four transmission lines were triggered, of which three have already been restored and one is damaged; nine subtransmission circuits, of which three have already been restored, of the remaining six, four are broken and two are being covered by our forces; 19 distribution circuits were also affected, nine have already been restored.

The authorities continue to tour the city to add impacts to the report.

Unofficial sources assure that there are people injured by the intense rain, who have requested medical assistance that has not been responded to due to lack of ambulances.
