Concerts are one of the main attractions of the summer. There are many cities and towns that celebrate their patron saint festivities during this summer season and, therefore, allocate a large part of their budget to hiring musical shows that are on tour. Some of the most popular musicians and groups in the country tour the main public stages arranged by the town halls in order to offer a varied repertoire to residents and visitors. Despite the discretion that many artists ask the consistories for their caches, municipal expenses are public and, therefore, sometimes come to light, as has happened in this case in Vigo.
The list that, in the last few hours, has been made public by the City Council of Vigo is causing a stir due to the surprising figures that many artists have requested from this Galician city council to offer their respective shows and recitals. The institution has announced the offers received in the second public call for Vigo in Festas 2023, with various and popular names.
Taking all kinds of voices, styles and audiences into account, the promoters usually present their offer and it is the town hall that, well in advance of the festivities, has to decide which artist to choose. Although it should be noted that names like David Guetta and Bad Gyal were already confirmed, the range of music on offer has been expanded with more names in recent times and, therefore, with the consequent update of its cost.
Quevedo’s cache
The amounts requested by the performers range from the 60,000 euros requested by artists such as Zenet and Antonio Carmona, who coincidentally will perform this coming August on the Sagües stage of the Semana Grande de San Sebastián, or SFDK and Nach; up to the 932,000 euros that David Guetta was asking for and that he will finally collect after confirming his show in the Galician city.
After the French DJ, one of the most famous in the world, the artist who has proposed the highest price is Quevedo, whose cache would exceed half a million euros (520,300). The canary, author of the most listened to song in the summer of 2022 with Bizarrap, has considerably raised his cache in recent months.
The list is completed by other singers such as Luz Casal (119,790 euros), Luis Fonsi (160,325), Vanesa Martín (137,940), Tanxugueiras (80,525), Juan Magán y Dumore (75,020) or Antonio Orozco, who has requested an amount of between 157,300 and 163,350 euros.
