The Government of El Salvador is ready to guarantee a safe vacation period for the population and international tourists who will visit the territory, through a wide deployment of personnel from the different institutions that make up the National Civil Protection System.

Officials who make up the National Civil Protection Commission provided details of the Summer 2024 Plan, which will be implemented from Saturday, March 23 to April 1 and in which more than 100,000 people from various entities will collaborate, to guarantee safety, health and the well-being of tourists.

This extensive plan includes mechanisms for coordinating and controlling operations at religious events, roads, recreational parks, beaches, businesses and mass gatherings. The actions will be implemented in strategic intervention scenarios, where a high influx of people is expected.

“With the aim of providing timely attention to any holiday emergency, we will be developing, together with all Civil Protection bodies at all levels, the summer 2024 plan (…) The Government will be working permanently, 24/7, focused on these strategies “said the director of Civil Protection, Luis Alonso Amaya.

The authorities reported that the Lifeguard Unit will remain in 110 strategic points on 28 beaches that usually have the greatest influx, throughout the territory. Likewise, the personnel of the Civil Protection Operational Tactical Teams will be in charge of monitoring religious events and entertainment activities, to provide immediate attention to any emergency.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, reported that there will be more than 15,000 people including traffic managers, police, personnel from the Ministry of Defense and other institutions that collaborate in vehicular devices on streets and highways. During the holiday period, it is planned to install 1,255 vehicle devices and carry out more than 5,000 anti-doping tests.

In addition, Rodríguez reported that starting tomorrow there will be a circulation restriction for cargo transportation on the highway to the Port of La Libertad, from the Utila roundabout, passing through the Camino a Surf City bypass, to the Conchalío roundabout. Also in the section of the Litoral highway, Riomar sector and Las Flores beach.
