Kannur: (www.kvartha.com) Various airlines will operate 268 services from the international airport. This is according to the summer time schedule. As per the winter schedule, there were 239 services from here.
As per the new schedule, Indigo Airlines will start direct service to Varanasi every Tuesday. With the start of service to Varanasi, there will be direct flights from Kannur to nine cities in India.
Currently there are direct services to Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode. There are connecting services to cities like Agartala, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Indore, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Surat, Trichy and Vizag.
Kannur Airport has flights to 10 countries in the Middle East in the summer schedule. There are direct international flights to Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Jeddah, Riyadh, Muscat, Dammam, Doha and Kuwait. There are also connecting flights to Bangkok, Colombo, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Mali, Phuket and Singapore.
Air India Express is the leader in international services with 70 services per week. Air India Express is starting daily service to Dubai in summer schedule. This will increase the weekly service to Dubai from 14 to 28.
Air India Express has included flights to Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Jeddah, Riyadh, Muscat, Doha and Kuwait in the summer schedule. Go First will operate daily services to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Direct service will also be provided to Muscat, Kuwait and Dammam. KIAL officials informed that Indigo Airlines will make the service to Doha daily.
