The cameras won’t be rolling. This Wednesday and Thursday, at the call of several union organizations, many filming events are canceled. According to our information, forty-seven productions, including “HPI”, TF1’s flagship run by Audrey Fleurot, but also “Astrid et Raphaëlle”, an audience hit for France 2, “Déter”, a daily series broadcast on france.tv , “La Superbe”, a TV film with Bernard Campan and Franckie Wallach, are concerned. Just like “Crime suits him so well”, “The Replacement” or “Leo Mattéï”

“Faced with the refusal of the four producer unions to take into account our request to reopen salary negotiations, with a view to obtaining the revaluation of the guaranteed minimum salary scales up to 20%”, the SPIAC-CGT, the SNTPCT and the CFTC Media + calls “all audiovisual production employees to take strike action. »

“Employees have lost 20% of purchasing power”

“Not yet as publicized as the crisis of screenwriters and actors in the United States, the anger expressed among professionals in audiovisual production (all programs except theatrical releases) reflects identical forms of dismay,” writes the Union of professionals in the audiovisual and cinema industries CGT in a press release.

The reason, in particular, is the absence of an increase in minimum wages since 2007. “Employees have lost 20% of purchasing power in this sector. They have seen their working conditions deteriorate, working hours have exploded with the arrival of digital platforms, and they remain faced with equal job insecurity,” the union further said.

“Their legitimate demands concern us all”

For their part, the French Union of Directors and the Union of Directors informed their members that they supported the movement initiated by the technicians, impacting “a certain number of shoots. » “Their legitimate demands concern us all. The quality of the films we make together depends on it,” they said.

“We should expect a turbulent end to the year in the French audiovisual sector,” estimates an attentive observer. To support the strike movement in the regional newspapers of France 3, the France Télévisions inter-union organization has just created a solidarity fund. Animation scriptwriters have also started a protest movement to denounce the practices of certain productions.
