As Mr. Durov stated, the developers were afraid that Stories from channels would flood users’ feeds, so they came up with a way to limit their ability to publish Stories. Users will be able to give their vote to the channel, and the more votes the channel has, the more Stories it will be able to publish per day. Only Premium subscribers will be able to vote for the channel; the vote must be confirmed every day. The more subscribers a channel has, the more votes it will need to be able to publish Stories. Thus, channels with a large number of fake subscribers may have difficulty collecting votes.
Telegram launched Stories in July 2023 for Premium subscribers. In August, Stories became available to all users.
