The Rolex Paris Masters leaves the Accor Arena. As we announced to you last week, the Paris Masters 1000, which has taken place for 38 years in Bercy, will move to Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) from the 2025 edition.

“This is a major turning point that the French Tennis Federation (FFT) and Paris La Défense Arena are pleased to announce. From 2025, the Rolex Paris Masters will be held in the large hall in western Paris, the largest indoor venue in Europe,” writes the FFT in a press release on its website.

“Excellent news” for the ATP

Main justification for this change of venue: the need to meet the ATP specifications (dimensions, reception capacities, organization of matches, etc.). The Accor Arena had simply become too small for a tournament of this caliber, with controversies over the “night sessions”, its cramped corridors, its queues to enter the courts… The new Paris Défense Arena hall, with five tennis courts, will be able to accommodate nearly 23,000 people compared to 16,800 in the 12th arrondissement of the capital.

“This is a major strategic decision in the history of the Rolex Paris Masters,” underlined the president of the FFT, Gilles Moretton. With this move to Paris La Défense Arena, we will give ourselves the means to achieve our ambitions by offering our athletes and spectators an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives.”

The ATP, through its president Andrea Gaudenzi, also welcomed this decision: “The announcement made today consolidates one of our biggest meetings on the ATP circuit. We are always looking for opportunities to allow our tournaments to grow and improve the experience for our players and, more importantly, the public. The move to Paris La Défense Arena is excellent news. »
