Nearly 270 cyclists, together with Mayor Metodi Baikushev, with number 1, and Deputy Mayor Stanislav Kimchev participated in the cycling event under the title “Blagoevgrad on two wheels”.
“Dear friends, I am happy that today we gathered to open the cycling season in Blagoevgrad. I urge you to follow the recommendations of the traffic police and have a pleasant and safe time. Today together we tell everyone that Blagoevgrad is alive, that Blagoevgrad has good conditions for cycling. Good time to all participants!”, with these words Mayor Baikushev started the event.
Young and old covered the pre-approved route of nearly 9 km in less than 30 minutes, although the event was not competitive in nature. The bike ride under the title “Blagoevgrad on two wheels” aims to provoke more people to move by bike in urban conditions.
All cyclists received a starting number, and immediately after the finish, they had the opportunity to participate in a raffle with gifts. The grand prize – a brand new bicycle – was won by a young cyclist named Valentin.
