Reported its fourth-quarter dedication that surpassed Wall Street analysts’ expectations. This is the sixth consecutive quarter that the company has shown a record number of dedications.

The number of deliveries in the quarter reached 308,600 vehicles, well beyond analysts’ forecasts of only 263,026 dedications. Dedication between October and December grew by 70% compared to the corresponding months last year and by 30% more than in the previous quarter. At an annual rate, sales this year grew by 87% and reached 936,172 vehicles delivered in 2021. 295,850 of the vehicles were from Model 3 and Y.

In doing so, Tesla “corrected” the shortfall in 2020, when sales did not reach the half-million they expected. Musk then said that Tesla will continue to grow annually at a rate higher than 50% and today it is sustaining in a big way.

Tesla’s achievement is particularly striking in light of the global shortage of chips and growing competition in light of China’s manufacturing crisis, supply chain problems as well as compelling regulatory pressure in consumer complaints about safety issues. Despite everything Tesla manages to break records quarter after quarter.

Despite the surge in sales Tesla has not said the last word in terms of sales growth as next year are expected to start delivering the cars of the new factory-located in Texas and Berlin. But even if that does not happen, Credit Suisse estimates that Tesla will sell 1.3 million cars from existing plants in the United States and China next year.
