In Ladkan village in Aurangabad district of the Maratha state, the incident where a 17-year-old sister was beheaded by her 17-year-old brother for having a romantic marriage has come as a huge shock.
The boy and his mother with more severed heads are taken by Selby. Police seized the mobile phone, removed the cellphone and sent it for forensic examination. The boy and his mother were also arrested.
Police Superintendent Nimit Goyal said the boy was inspired by a Marathi film and committed the murder.
The murdered teenager ran away from home last June. She is married to her boyfriend, a 20-year-old man. Since then, she has been living in Ladkan village with her husband.
The woman’s mother and the boy plan to kill them on the grounds that they have brought shame to her family, even though their marriage is not a mixed marriage. That’s why they both went to the woman’s house pretending to be reconciled.
While the woman was making tea in the kitchen for the two of them, the boy who went behind cut his sister with a scythe and killed her by cutting off her head. The mother and son are then taken along by Selby with the severed head.
The boy also tried to kill his sister’s husband. But he escaped. Police say the murdered teenager was pregnant.
