The Cabinet of Ministers approved the simplified import of electronic equipment to Russia

The Russian government has approved amendments to the law “On Communications”, which provide for a simplified import of radio electronic equipment and high-frequency devices into the country, follows from the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The decision was taken at a meeting on 24 November. “Approve the draft federal law “On Amendments to Article 71 of the Federal Law “On Communications”” and submit it to the State Duma in the prescribed manner,” the statement says.

Now in st. 71 of the Law “On Communications” stipulates that the import and export of radio electronic means and high-frequency devices are carried out in accordance with the legislation and international treaties of Russia, the legislation of the Customs Union within the framework of the EurAsEC. As follows from Art. 22 of the Law “On Communications”, in the territory of Russia “radio-electronic devices used for individual reception of signals from TV channels and (or) radio channels, signals of personal radio calls (radio pagers), electronic household products and personal radio navigation aids that do not contain radio-emitting devices” are not subject to registration , as well as on-board and ship radio stations.

After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, many large Western companies announced their withdrawal from the Russian market and the suspension of investments. According to Yale University, more than 1,000 companies have reported this publicly. These include the largest suppliers of telecom equipment – Nokia and Ericsson, Siemens, etc.
