After the cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic, the Cannes Film Festival is back. Initially scheduled for May, the 74th edition will take place from 6 to 17 July. Spike Lee was reconfirmed as the president of the jury. The Cannes Film Festival was born on September 20, 1946, in the first Palais des Festivals, built specifically for the occasion. It is an annual international event designed to compete with the Venice Film Festival. It quickly became a prestigious festival thanks to the arrival of big screen stars from all over the world. To host the growing competition, a new palace was built in 1979. The stars climb the famous 24 “Steps of Glory” and stop on the red carpet to be photographed. The most prestigious award of the Festival is the Palme d’Or, awarded to the best film. In this edition there is also an Italian film: “Three floors” by Nanni Moretti.
