The car rammed into the front of the KSRTC bus, killing the passenger of the car, Vyodhika

Alappuzha: An elderly car passenger Vyodhika died in a collision between a KSRTC bus and a car near Pathirapally junction on the national highway. Radhamma (74) died at Sriragam house in Pulikal, Malappuram. Daughter Jayashree and husband Rajeev who were in the car were seriously injured.

Jayashree was admitted to a private hospital in Thumpoli and Rajeev was admitted to Vandanam Medical College Hospital in Alappuzha. Rajeev was driving the car. The accident happened near Pathirapally bus stop at 12 noon today. The Innova car, which had lost control from the north, rammed into the front of the KSRTC bus which was going from Alappuzha depot to Cherthala.

The front of the car was completely destroyed by the impact. Locals who rushed to the spot and the fire brigade who came to know about the incident, tore the car apart and shifted the injured to the hospital.

Radhamma was dead by the time she reached the hospital. The victims were going to their family home in Mavelikkara Chunakkara. Following the accident, the traffic on the national highway was blocked for an hour. Alappuzha North Police took action.

Meanwhile, a biker died after being hit by a lorry near Iringalakuda Marvel Junction. The accident took place near Marvel Junction on the Iringalakuda-Thrissur road at around 6 pm on Thursday. Faisal (52), a biker from Kodungallur Kottapuram, died at his Edavanakkad house in the accident. Deceased Faisal was the office secretary of Kodungallur Cheraman Juma Masjid.

Faisal’s bike, which was coming from Thrissur, went out of control and fell under the Tamil Nadu registered lorry that was coming towards it. The wheels of the lorry went over his head. He died on the spot. Iringalakuda police took the body to Iringalakuda General Hospital.
