Ivory Coast – After the crushing defeat of the national team against Equatorial Guinea, Jean-Louis Gasset, the coach of the Elephants, submitted his resignation. Prime Minister Robert BEUGRE MAMBE had no objection.

The Ivorians will not soon forget the day of January 22, 2024 marked by the defeat of their national team against the Equatorial Guinea team (0-4). The latest news, Jean-Louis Gasset, the coach of the Ivory Coast selection, presented his resignation that same evening to Yacine Idriss Diallo, his employer and the president of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF).

His resignation was accepted shortly after by the Prime Minister, in charge of Sports, Robert BEUGRE MAMBE. Jean-Louis Gasset will be replaced by a trio of coaches made up of Ivorian internationals Émerse Faé, Alain Gouaméné (ex-Éléphants goalkeeper) and Guy Demel.

The Ivorians are waiting for the end of this day of January 24, 2024 to hope to be qualified.
