Today, Saturday, the Independent High Electoral Commission confirmed its readiness to hold general balloting for the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections, denying all rumors related to the secrecy of the ballot for all voters for private and general voting.

The Commission said in a statement – received by the (INA): “It is ready to hold general balloting for the 2024 elections for the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region – Iraq for its sixth session on 10/20/2024,” denying “all rumors related to the secrecy of the ballot for all voters for private and general voting.” “.

She added, “The voter’s choice regarding the right to vote is secret, and under no circumstances can the voter’s vote in the polling machines be known to anyone, including the Commission and its cadres.”
She continued, “We call on candidates, parties, and alliances to adhere to electoral silence and to remove everything that might disrupt the electoral process,” calling on voters to “adhere to the Commission’s controls by not bringing and using mobile devices and cameras inside polling stations.”
