Mepayur (Kozhikode) – A man is in custody in connection with the car accident that caused the death of a young man three months ago. The Mepayur police have taken into custody the vehicle and the driver which caused the death of Nived in Kirpayur. Choi’s son Prabish and ‘KL 01 AE 8284’ Maruti car were taken into custody at Kayanna Kuruppan house. A case was registered under Section 304 for manslaughter. The vehicle did not have insurance coverage at the time of the accident.
The accident took place on May 21. While returning home from work at Perampra Badusha Super Market on his bike, the car passed by without stopping after hitting Kirpayur resident Meethale Othayoth Nived and a pedestrian passenger, Singer Moithi. The Perambra police conducted an investigation but could not find the vehicle.
Seena, a resident of Kuttyadi Vadayam, who was an eyewitness to the accident, came to the police and gave a statement after seeing the news in the media three days ago. Due to this, there was a turning point in the case. Then the investigation led by Mepayur CI K. Unnikrishnan led to the discovery of the accused and the vehicle. Mepayur police said that the investigation will continue.
