Maor Yosef, 10, is the boy who was killed yesterday in the bus accident on Sderot Menachem Begin in Ashdod. The late Maor’s father told Wala! that “He was always with friends, his friend tried to save him and pull him away according to what I understand. He was only ten years old, studying in the fifth grade, the middle child among three. They didn’t leave him a chance.”

Maor was taken to Assuta Hospital in a critical condition while CPR was performed there, but there they had to pronounce him dead. The driver suspected of running over was detained for questioning, at the end of which it was decided to arrest him. He is expected to be brought before the Ashkelon Magistrate’s Court where the police will ask to extend his detention.

In addition to Yosef, another child was also hit by the bus and was slightly injured. MDA paramedic Osherit Haddad and MDA emergency medicine medic Noor Ezarzer said: “One of the children was lying on the road a long way from the bus unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, and the other child was walking around on the spot. We performed medical tests and immediately began the medical treatment, which included resuscitation operations and stopping bleeding The child was unconscious and we evacuated him while continuing resuscitation operations to the hospital when his condition was critical. The second child who was slightly injured was fully conscious and after initial treatment in the field he was taken by MDA ambulance to the hospital in stable condition.”
